A Forum for LIFE has developed a series of culinary arts classes that begin with basis cooking to more advanced information that may lead you into a career in the kitchen.
As a Public Charity, we offer a viable option for those who do not have the inclination, time or resources to attend a very costly culinary arts institution on a full time basis.
These classes are designed to be fun, informative and assist individuals to become more proficient in the kitchen. Below are a few examples of what to expect. Basic Cooking - This series of classes focus on the fundamentals such as the inspection, selection, handling and preparation of ingredients for nutritious meals. Students will learn how to
keeps utensils in top working order
slice, mince and dice
bone a chicken and other cuts of meat
make baby food
learn to grill, steam & roast vegetables
make soups, salads to the perfect sandwich and more.
The cost of classes include everything; the ingredients, equipment and copies of materials and recipes. In addition to basis cooking, students learn various table settings and etiquette and food paring. Our mission will assist participants in the development an invaluable life skill as well as lead them into a career in the culinary arts if is your aspiration.
Edemar Arbuzow, the lead instructor, is the main ingredient in this kitchen. She has over 20 years of cooking and instructional experience in Greater New York. As a nationalized citizen and native of Brazil, she speaks English, Portuguese & Spanish. Her easy going personality and way with people is a perfect blend to make the most of each class and participant.
